The National Public Health Agency (NPHA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), is pleased to announce the implementation of the Frontline (Cohort 18) and Intermediate (Cohort 9) levels of the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) in Sierra Leone.
This initiative is made possible through the pandemic response funding received through the World Health Organization (WHO).
The NPHA and its partners recognize the FETP as a proven and effective strategy for strengthening the country's capacity in epidemiology, disease surveillance, and outbreak response. The program will equip public health workers with essential skills to detect, investigate, and respond to public health threats effectively.
The training is scheduled to commence in August/September 2026. Please have Directors, Program Managers, District Medical Officers, and Supervisors make the application forms attached to this email available to eligible public health staff from your department or district (Ref. eligibility criteria also attached to this email) to apply and participate in the upcoming cohorts.
Application Requirements
Please let the applicants complete the application forms correctly, for the FETP tier (FETP Frontline or FETP Intermediate) to ensure correct cohort placement.
